True North Kingston Charter School Approved

The Lee County School District has formally approved the charter application for True North Classical Academy at Kingston, clearing the final regulatory hurdle for a tuition-free public charter school inside the community. The K-12 campus will sit on a dedicated 25-acre parcel reserved for educational use within the Kingston master plan.

A classical curriculum

True North follows a classical-education model grounded in core knowledge, liberal arts, and character formation. The Kingston campus will mirror the curriculum used at True North’s existing Florida schools, with phased grade openings rolling out over the first several years rather than launching all 13 grades simultaneously.

  • Tuition-free for all Lee County residents
  • Phased K-12 grade openings beginning the year after site delivery
  • On-site athletic fields, performing-arts center, and STEM labs
  • Walkable and bikeable from the Kingston neighborhoods

Why it matters for Kingston

A walkable, on-site K-12 option has been a stated goal of the Kingston master plan since the earliest community workshops. Families inside Kingston will not need to leave the community for primary or secondary education, and the campus is sized to serve the long-term build-out of the entire community.

“A great school turns a development into a community. The True North approval is one of the most important milestones in Kingston’s plan — full stop.”
